Lizzie in trouble

Nope, not my sister, I don’t have one, but rather our Westland Lysander that was being developed by a British modeling company. Until last Friday, that is.
I actually do not know what happened to them. They were very enthusiastic at first, wanting to ‘enter’ the flightsim world. We agreed on the Lysander, we had some contacts and initial design studies….. then it went quiet for months. A partner left, and who knows what else happened.

Last thing I know is that I got an ‘almost finished’ model that was not imported into FS, a note that they would NOT actually do that, followed by further total lack of communications.

I HAD to decide to stop working with them. Not only is it impossible to work for me that way (I NEED constant and immediate contact with my business partners), but it also turned out that I would be paying LOTS of money for a model that would not ‘fly’ in FS !

Here’s the GOOD NEWS: I found a new business partner, a company in Canada, and they are going to make me the Lysander model after all. By the looks of previous work it will bet BETTER. And it will even be cheaper (although still expensive).

So, yes, delayed, but alive and kicking….. I’ll keep you posted of further progress of course. I for one am still extremely excited about this planned package and I am sure it will come out great ….. in the end !

Jim Keir’s FSX Mission Editor Out Now !!

The new ‘Missions’ that Microsoft introduced with their latest iteration of the Flight Simulator franchise, Flight Simulator X, drew a lot of excitement. Not only would the missions give something ‘to do’ and possibly attract a whole new breed of flightsimmers. It would also be something ‘to do’ in the more creative sene; MAKING MISSIONS YOURSELF and adding to the sim experience that way.

Alas…. the implementation was less than stellar in the area of design and building.

With Jim Keir’s mission editor for FSX this is now changing.

Read more about it here !

Or go straight to simMarket’s product page for free download…. and eventual purchase!

Joe Watson’s second title released

So it took awhile. We had some problems with customers running Vista systems, but that’s now addressed.

So here is Joe’s second installment of his Central Florida range, adding yet another slew of enhanced airfields to the Sunny State.

Check out the product page here for a list of all fields included. Volumes 3 and 4 will follow within 2 weeks from now. Each one only costs US$ 11.11 and is sold using the Flight1 system. Soon on simMarket too !

FSX Mission Editor coming……

Jim Keir is now just about finished building his brand new Mission Editor for FSX.

If you ever tried making your own missions, you’ll have noticed that it is NOT easy. With Jim’s new editor and above all his User Interface, it is still ‘work’, but made a lot easier !

The FSX Mission Editor will be FREEWARE for the ‘base version’, and a more extended version, including MSI installer, will be for sale via FSAddon Publishing.
