Over the years we’ve had quite a few requests from customers – that would be YOU ! – to deliver our products on CD as well as in download format. At first we didn’t have the ability for that, then we didn’t have the time. But since our products catalogue has been growing over time and the requests kept coming in, we decided that perhaps it is time to go the extra mile and burn you a CD if desired.

So the first few products are now available on CD, DIRECT from FSAddon Publishing. Since we are a small (but growing) company we cannot offer yet a gazillion of payment methods – or rather: we just can’t afford it yet – so you’ll have to do with Paypal and/or credit card through them. There is still the option of buying the products through simMarket and have THEM burn a CD for you, of course.

Together with the ‘CD plan’ we’re also coming back to an earlier promise of making some products a little cheaper, by pricing them in US $ instead of the expensive Euros.

The first titles available now are Plum Island, Plum Island PLUS Piper Cub (ONLY on CD!) and Vancouver Plus X. These are all FSX only titles! Click on ‘fsaddon products’ to the right to go to our purchase page!

We found a news clipping in Fritz’s mailbox this morning that we want to share with you, Emma Field afficionados and potential Emma Field pilots. As you may know, Emma Field is THE place to be for relaxed GA flying in a friendly environment, on-line and off-line, and one of the largest FS communities on the Internet for the past 8 years.

Personally we feel there is more behind this than just a still blowing up…… can you spell conspiracy? Sabotage?

Unfortunately some of our earlier products will have to be discontinued. Notably Orcas Island and Lake Wenatchee are costing us more in terms of administration, royalties and taxes, than they are bringing in terms of income, so it makes no longer a business sense to maintain them.
There is also an issue with some of the older installers used by simmarket years ago, that are NOW identified by some virus progrmas (notably Avast!) as a virus. There is NO virus if course, and never has vbeen, but we can’t beat these so-called ‘false positives’ without totally re-packaging the (FS9) products. This also goes for Harvey Field from Bob Bernstein.

We are still looking into re-packaging Misty Fjords and Tongass Fjords so we can continue selling those to FS9 users, but can’t promise anything at this time.

We have received many requests to deliver our products on CD as well as on download. So finally I have started a modest ‘CD service’ for some of them. We’ll start with a ’special’ which ONLY available on CD: the Plum Island + Piper Cub Combo.

If you don’t have these wonderful products yet, then here’s a chance to get them BOTH at a REDUCED price, on CD!

We do not offer this combination for download and it is aimed specifically at those customers who find it a problem buying download products and for those who just prefer to have their software burnt on a CD.

We’re working on Vancouver for FSX next, and IYP will also be available on CD soon !

For some reason or other it is a huge hurdle for people to buy and install software ‘on-line’. IYP (It’s Your Plane) was designed with on-line use in mind, providing real-time information and automatic updates at all times. But many people still ask for a CD version of it, to be installed on their home PC.

Well, after much debate we have now decided to accommodate those potential customers, by burning a special CD with IYP (current standing!) onto it. You just pop it in the drive and the setup program will take you through the paces. You will of course NOT get any updates, unless you connect to the Internet and log in with your details.

The CD will be produced by FSAddon Publishing and shipped from our offices directly. We will add the ‘purchase page’ sometime next week and start shipping as soon as we can. CD price will be $ 40.

Bill Womack has published a small update to his recently released Plum Island title. This update addresses two problems with Plum Island. Users of FSX SP1 were experiencing a building crash when taking off from runway 10 or landing on runway 28 and the airport grounds at 2B2 changed to winter textures on Nov. 1, a month before the surrounding terrain.

  This update removes the crash box around the boat and trailer at the end of the runway, which resolves the SP1 building crashes. It also modifies the 2B2 airport grounds so that snow textures start on Dec. 1, as they do in the surrounding landscape.

The patch can be found on Bills site, and Plum Island is still available from FSAddon.com (now also on CD !) or simMarket.com.
