Meanwhile, back at the farm house…….

While I am hard at work trying to finish the User Guide…. Nick made us some more pictures to ‘keep you busy’…..

More Lysander news

We’re now at Beta 3 for the Lysander and hoping that Beta 4 will be the final one for the model, animation and textures. We’ve made great strides these past couple weeks ! Next will be engine sounds…. and I am now working on the missions that will accompany this model.

The ‘landing lights’ I used at first were not strong enough and one could never ever find the field in the dark. It still is near impossible even with the (much too strong) lights I have provided now, but we’ll add some ‘artificial help’ in order to not scare away all customers.

Here are some pictures Nick made, and some that I made of the first mission’s landing zone, somewhere north of the French village of Cluny.

New ‘feature’ at FSAddon

No, not a new add-on for your Flight Simulator, but rather an addition to our website.

As of today you can find a tab labeled Events Calendar (on the right). It will take you to a new page on our website where you will get a Google Calendar displayed. This calendar will be used to mark flight simulation and real aviation events during the year. Events that interest us and that we think may interest you as well.

Also, feel free to send us your favorites. If we think they fit the interest of our visitors we’ll gladly add them to the calendar.

Lizzie Flies In France !!

Now that we’re all busy testing (or rather, our test team is!), I tought I’d post a few more pictures of the WIP (Work In Progress) of our Westland Lysander. Mind you, still a few things to be finished and adapted, but she’s really starting to look very handsome indeed !!

Here’s me just after take-off from one of the secret fields in the French countryside. YOU will of course do this by the light of the moon and without a GPS…. but I thought it would make for better pictures to make a day run first…… no Germans shot at us this time !!!

Here’s another few……

More news when we have it…..

Helicopter Landing Ship LHA-5 on CD

We now finished the production version of AJ Weber’s LHA-5 and amphibious tank AAV-7 to be delivered through the F1 wrapper system AND on CD.

The product will remain available from the regular on-line shop, simMarket, of course, but can now also be bought direct from FSAddon Publishing (see our ‘FSAddon Products’ on the right of this page), both as download (for US$ 19,95) and on CD (US$ 30) for those of you who have slow connections.

The LHA offers not one but FIVE of the Tarawa class landing ships, placed in various locations around the world (US coast, Hawaii, Lebanon and Japan). It is land-able and an excellent platform for helicopter pilots to practice.

In addition the ‘drive-able’ AAV-7 amphibious tank is a load of fun to use to drive around… and it floats too !!!

Over 1 Million Forum Visits Already !

1.000.000 !!!! WOW !!!

FSAddon’s own forum this month passed the 1 MILLION MARKER in forum visitors already. Granted, part of this is because we also run our (private) beta test forums on there, but still…. we’re happy with that number !! If you want to join in the fun, tell us what you like or don’t like about our products, or need help, then please visit here !!

Bobcat Upgrade and CD version

Ever since it was published a few weeks ago, early users and testers asked for a Bobcat version WITHOUT passengers.

At the time Simon was not able to comply with those wishes, but now he has released an update for existing customers, where the passengers are no longer visible when flying ‘in cockpit’. You can still see them in ’spot plane mode’.

Simon also made a few minor corrections, among other things to the beacon light switch function.

You can download the free upgrade here.

The Bobcat T-50 is now also available on a CD and as a direct download from the FSAddon product page (These are ‘Version 2′ and include the upgrade already!).

FSAddon founding member of IFSC

In a meeting in Amsterdam of some of the world’s best known publishers, news sites and developers the IFSC (International Flight Sim Consortium) was formed. FSAddon Publishing is one of the founding members of this global group of stakeholders in the flight simulator hobby.

Aim is to make sure that the hobby as such will continue to prosper, now that Microsoft pulled out of it, and both hobbyists AND add-on development companies will continue to have a market.
There will be a fee attached to membership and basically only commercial entities can be member. Each commercial member will have the opportunity of introducing a maximum of two of non-profit groups (examples of such would be VATSIM, serious VA’s, freeware developer groups etc.).

More details will be made available as soon as we have them. Suffice now to say that we think this is a great initiative (started by Arnie Lee of Abacus Software) and we’re hopeful of being able to pull together the various competing companies and developers to at least help keep the hobby alive, in everybody’s best interest!
